Since its inception, the collaboration between The North Face and Gucci has been about getting out there. About exploring, adventuring, striking out into the wild—whether that means venturing to the furthest corners of your town or city or the actual, factual wilderness—and seeing what there is to see. Sure, there's the fashion aspect. The North Face is on a heater when it comes to collaborations, and it doesn't hurt that throwback, gorp-adjacent styles feel especially relevant right now. And Gucci is, well...Gucci. It's bold, idiosyncratic, and indisputably cool as fuck. But a big part of the appeal of the collaboration has always been the promise of stepping out of one's comfort zone and taking that trip.
So it kind of makes sense that this fall, for their third outing—dubbed Chapter 3—the brands are leaning into those vibes. Not the outdoorsy ones. The trippy ones. In a press release, the brands describe it as a "kaleidoscopic aesthetic," and you'll find it exemplified in a print that presents itself throughout the collection. An all-over, rainbow-hued, mirrored-and-repeated riff on the now-infamous The North Face x Gucci logo, it pops up on a light background on a down jacket. Or against black on a tracksuit. You can find it on bags and sneakers, too. And if that version is a little much for your tastes, you can get the distilled version—just one logo, albeit still in an array of colors—on sweats, tees, and yet another pair of sneakers. And if even that still feels too loud, you can still snag low-key hits like a black hoodie with a TNF x Gucci logo in good old (relatively) understated gold. Or you can go in another direction entirely with an array of colorblocked jackets and vests. Your call.
Of course, if the last couple of outings from this particular duo are anything to go by, you won't be able to get any of that stuff for all that long. The collection just released today, so if you've got your eye on something, get it now. And when it arrives? Go ahead and take that trip. Whichever kind you desire, and to wherever you please.
