Police are investigating an assault at Glenside earlier this afternoon.

About 1.45pm Thursday 11 August, emergency services were called to Portrush Road after reports that a man had been stabbed.

When police arrived they located the victim, a 44-year-old man with a stab wound to his chest and leg.

He was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as male, stocky build and wearing a blue hoody and jeans. He was last seen running north on Portrush Road towards Burnside Village.

Eastern Adelaide CIB are investigating and advise that the matter is not random.
