"Ukrainian Festival" today in Sellwood: Ukrainian Festival — today from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.; St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 8014 S.E. 16th Avenue hosts the festivities — which include fresh Ukrainian foods, such as perogies, cabbage rolls, and borshch (the Russian version is spelled "borscht") — as well as beers — to purchase and enjoy. Discover Ukrainian music and culture, and shop from vendors offering hats, shirts, hoodies, and flags. For the kids, there will be a bounce house and face painting. Just drop by, or spend the day. SEPTEMBER 11 All Saints' public "Fall Kick-Off Party" today: Woodstock's All Saints Episcopal Church has a community "Fall Kick-Off Party", with Micah and Me, Sunday, midday today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Stop by to close out the summer and welcome the fall with a big neighborhood celebration! Festivities include appearances by the Portland Baby Goats, the Micah and Me Kindie Dance Party Band, Otto's Hot Dogs, vegan dogs, and Popsicles. It's all free and open to everyone in the community. Especially needed are canned foods — such as soups, chili, tuna, vegetables, fruits; and packaged foods such as peanut butter, cereal, rice, and pasta.
