The line features artwork by contemporary graphic artist Kosuke Kawamura, who is famous for their collage work and provides designs for major apparel companies such as UNIQLO. The primary theme for the merch line is "Godzilla in Hollywood," with Kawamura's designs invoking the retro-film aesthetic featured in some of Godzilla's earliest theatrical appearances. Kawamura expressed their gratitude for being involved in the project.

"It was an honor to work with both Toho International and HUF Worldwide on this collection," Kawamura said. "The unique collage design seen on each item was inspired by Godzilla being a global pop-culture icon, and I hope fans enjoy this new perspective brought to this well-known classic character."

Godzilla's popularity has endured among Western audiences, with the success of films such as Adam Wingard's Godzilla vs. Kong (2021) is a testament to the fact that Godzilla remains a vital part of the MonsterVerse. Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. recently announced that filming for the Godzilla vs. Kong sequel has officially begun. According to the filmmakers, the film will explore the origin stories of the titular titans while delving more into the history of Skull Island. The film is projected for release sometime in 2024.
