After making the Indianapolis Colts 53-man roster, undrafted rookie, JoJo Domann, shared a throwback picture of him in Colts gear.
Sports are all about destiny, what’s meant to be, and good stories. Apparently, the Indianapolis Colts have a story of destiny on their roster. On Tuesday, when teams announced their initial 53-man rosters, many fans were excited to see that undrafted linebacker, JoJo Domann, had made Indy’s initial roster.
After no undrafted rookies made Indianapolis’ roster last season, many fans and media members named Domann as the most likely candidate to break through this season. He proved everyone right as he became a fan favorite while having a pretty good camp. Turns out that Domann has been thinking about playing for the Colts well before the team signed him following the Draft.
On Wednesday, JoJo took to Instagram to share a picture of him as a child with an Indianapolis Colts hoodie and helmet on. The picture was accompanied by a modern picture of him in Indy’s current uniform and a caption saying, “I’m just out here livin the dream.”
“I’ve dreamed of being here since forever… This is all I’ve really ever wanted to do, so now that I’m here, it’s where do we go now? What’s the next dream?”

During a Thursday press conference, Domann revealed how getting here was always his dream. As an undrafted free agent, he had multiple offers and could’ve signed with other franchises, but he said his father, a longtime NFL agent, encouraged him to sign with the Colts. So far, that decision is paying off.
Domann was immediately noticed as a splashy defender during Indy’s first week of training camp. His previous experience as a safety at Nebraska helps him in coverage and he also has the natural instincts of a linebacker to fly around and get involved wherever the ball is. Those skills also showed up in his preseason appearances.
Although Indy has a pretty stacked linebacker unit with guys like Shaquille Leonard, Bobby Okereke, Zaire Franklin, and EJ Speed, Domann will have the opportunity to be a big player on special teams and occasionally rotate in on the defense. When the regular season starts, he’ll officially be playing for the Indianapolis Colts, something that has been the plan all along.
