Three men wearing masks and hooded sweatshirts used hammers to smash jewelry display cases at a Macy’s in Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek to steal a number of high-end watches on Saturday morning, authorities said.
The trio walked into the Macy’s store at 10:48 a.m. and started smashing jewelry display cases and stole an “unknown amount of high end watches” before driving away in a white, “older model” four-door Honda sedan, Walnut Creek police said in a news release posted on Facebook.
No one in the store was injured, police said.
“Macy’s is still inventorying the loss and estimated cost to repair the damages,” police said.
Authorities said additional information was immediately unavailable on Saturday afternoon.
