BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Boca Raton Police Department arrested the man they say is responsible for an armed robbery on Banyan Road last month.
The Department issued this statement on Thursday: “On August 31, 2022, Kwame Moorer was arrested in Miami-Dade County on a warrant obtained by Boca Raton Police Detective Scott Hanley for Robbery with a Firearm and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm. Surveillance video and other investigative tools determined Moorer followed the victim’s home from the Hard Rock Casino on July 25, 2022 before robbing them at gunpoint and then firing one round in their direction as he fled the area.”
The original crime was described by Boca PD this way: “Boca Raton police detectives are investigating an armed robbery that occurred in the early morning on July 25, 2022. The two victims arrived home on Banyan Road at 4:28 am after spending the night at the Hard Rock Casino. Both victims stated that when they parked and got out of the car, they were approached by the suspect, who pointed a gun at them demanded their belongings. Both victims complied and gave the suspect their wallets, phones, and cash. Both stated the suspect began to flee and before jumping over a cement wall turned and fired one shot in their direction. The suspect then got into a dark SUV parked on Banyan Road and fled north. Neither victim was injured. The suspect is described as a black male, 5’8”-5’10”, dark pants, long sleeve hoodie and black mask.”
Police now identify the suspect as Kwarme Moorer DOB: 9/17/1991 of Opa Locka, FL
